Former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara on Wednesday joined a Zoom call with Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz and her staff to kick off the office’s Brave Justice summer intern program, reflecting on his own path in the profession and the lessons he learned along the way.

After jokingly noting that Katz, as an elected official, cannot be fired as he was by former President Donald Trump, Bharara praised the moral responsibility prosecutors take on.
