This valuable resource covers every aspect of foreclosure law in Connecticut

Connecticut Foreclosures: An Attorney's Manual of Practice and Procedure is the most authoritative treatise on the subject. Written by Denis Caron, long recognized as the leading authority on foreclosures in Connecticut, in collaboration with Geoffrey Milne and Andrew Barsom.

Covering every aspect of foreclosure law in Connecticut, from preliminary considerations to defenses and appeals, Connecticut Foreclosures has been cited in over 200 court decisions.

This two-volume treatise, currently in its sixteenth edition, is available in both print and digital formats, with hyperlinks to the full text of cases, statutes, and other authoritative content. The Appendix contains more than 100 forms, including Foreclosure Mediation forms, Practice Book forms, Uniform Standing Order for Foreclosure by Sale forms, Official Bankruptcy forms, IRS forms, unofficial forms, and legislative materials.

New to the 2026 Edition:

  • In-depth analysis of a statutory enactment which imposes a statute of limitations on the cause of action of foreclosure of a mortgage deed, containing a multi-faceted approach as to what mortgages it is applicable to and when it becomes applicable
  • The authors' perspectives regarding the Uniform Commercial Real Estate Receivership Act (UCRERA) and its impact on the foreclosure process in Connecticut now that there have been more substantive trial-level decisions addressing the scope of authority conferred by that statutory scheme
  • Analysis of over a dozen appellate cases from the past year, covering defenses, judicial sales, appellate issues, and bankruptcy intersections which will likely be regularly encountered by practitioners in this field as well as judges
