New York City attorneys failed to limit the city's liability for the 2003 Staten Island Ferry crash to $14 million. Now two of the firms that took the lead on the civil lawsuit over the crash -- Dougherty, Ryan, Giuffra, Zambito & Hession and Bosco, Bisignano, & Mascolo -- will ask an Eastern District of New York judge to compel every firm that has handled a civil suit related to the crash to give a portion of what they win to the two firms as compensation for their work on the limitation proceeding.
