Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft is set today to announce it has recruited four of Weil, Gotshal & Manges' most prominent bankruptcy partners: George Davis, Deryck Palmer, John Rapisardi and Andrew Troop. The move signals a major shift among elite bankruptcy practices. Weil Gotshal, long seen as the top firm in the U.S. for bankruptcy work, has never lost so many top bankruptcy partners at once. The departing partners are almost all under 50 and seemed due to be Weil's next generation of practice leaders.
