A former varsity baseball player at Florida State has lost a personal injury case that he brought against Connecticut's New Britain Baseball Club after he was struck in the testicles by an errant ball. Michael Teixiera was hit while he was at a barbecue event near the first base line during the players' warm-up period. In a history-rich analysis of professional baseball, Superior Court Judge Dan Shaban concluded that the ball club had no duty to warn because the danger was open and obvious.
