A federal judge has asked the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney's Office to prosecute an attorney for criminal contempt in connection with a long-standing malpractice verdict against him. Judge Denise Cote said David A. Dorfman had violated a court order pertaining to a verdict against him for exaggerating his experience as an attorney and missing a filing deadline. Cote has in the past noted Dorfman's "elaborate and sometimes fraudulent efforts" to avoid paying the judgment.
