The candidates that may be under consideration for nomination to the Supreme Court in the wake of Harriet Miers' withdrawal have varied backgrounds, but all are relatively young and conservative. Some familiar names appear on the list, such as Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and former Solicitor General Theodore B. Olson. Others are less well-known, many are federal circuit court judges, and one attorney is often described as the female version of new Chief Justice John Roberts.
