Global soccer legend Lionel Messi has finally inked his long-awaited deal to join Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami FC, and the names of the law firms who’ve helped facilitate the blockbuster transaction are now surfacing.
While Hogan Lovells worked with David Beckham’s Miami Beckham United LLC, the investment group behind the franchise, to lure Messi to MLS, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom worked with Spanish lawyer Jorge Pecourt to represent the Argentine national and longtime FC Barcelona star, who most recently played club soccer for Paris Saint-Germain.
