Atlantic Canadian law firm McInnes Cooper, for the second time in less than a year, has tied up with a small firm in the Cape Breton region of Nova Scotia to make it the largest provider of legal services in the area.

McInnes Cooper, one of the 25 largest firms in Canada, said it officially joined with LaFosse MacLeod this week, following a merger with The Breton Law Group last September. At the time, managing partner Kevin Kiley said the regional law firm was in growth mode, noting Cape Breton was expected to have more than a billion dollars of infrastructure investment over the next six years.
