Greenberg Traurig has won a ruling on behalf of the ride-hailing platform Uber that allows the company to operate in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, home to the Caribbean resort town of Cancún.

The ruling also may pave the way for Uber to unlock other still-untapped markets in Mexico where taxi unions are very close to state governments.
