Another day, another pay rise. That’s how it feels currently in the legal industry, as more firms flock to raise rates.

The pay war has returned to the industry several times since last summer and it seems that everybody has something to say on the issue. Some argue it is fair to share out the profits, some say it is “perpetuating a toxic culture”, others say it is “ignoring the basic principles of business”.
