More than the usual suspects are snagging work from Bay Area emerging growth companies, according to Jeff Tsai, DLA Piper’s San Francisco managing partner.

“DLA Piper is sitting at that table, and it is no longer just what I’ll call the stalwart law firms who have traditionally represented a lot of those companies,” said Tsai, who stepped into the leadership role in January.
