With a nine-attorney departure to Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young in August, White and Williams dropped below 200 lawyers, raising the question of what comes next for the Philadelphia-based firm.

So far in 2021, the firm lost 13 attorneys, many of whom were top rainmakers and practice group leaders. Those were precipitated by significant partner losses in 2020 and 2019 as well. However, the firm contends it is not in merger talks, and continues to seek out expansion opportunities such as its recent office launch in Connecticut.
