At the recent inauguration of Albany Law School’s new president and dean, Cinnamon P. Carlarne, keynote remarks were delivered by Garry W. Jenkins, the president of Bates College. He spoke about the importance of lawyer leadership, and the need for training in that area.

“The legal profession,” Jenkins said, “has long been perceived by the public as comprising problem solvers and leaders, especially in public life. The next generation of great lawyers must not just be legal practitioners, but also highly capable leaders, leaders who are ready to operate in a constantly changing, interconnected and interdependent world.”
