Albert Togut, founder of Togut, Segal & Segal, has been named interim trustee in the involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy of real estate attorney Mitchell Kossoff’s law firm, according to documents filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Kossoff has been accused of stealing millions of dollars he was supposed to hold in escrow for clients, activity at the center of a series of state and federal lawsuits filed in recent weeks in Manhattan and the focus of an investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
