The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined without comment to hear Krishna Maharaj’s bid for the justices’ review, despite the pleas of U.K. members of Parliament.

Reed Smith had submitted an amicus brief to the court on behalf of a group of 61 U.K. members of Parliament in a bid to secure the release of Maharaj, a U.K. citizen who has been in prison for 36 years for the murders of two Chinese Jamaican businessmen.
