Attorney Mark Zaid is representing a former FBI agent in a fight over the FBI’s alleged failure to review a memoir about the agency’s actions following the 9/11 attack.

“Because There Are Monsters,” written by plaintiff and 20-year FBI veteran Harry Samit, aims to tell the story of investigations leading to the conviction of  Zacarias Moussaoui following the attack on New York. Samit was the lead agent of the Minneapolis Joint Terrorism Task Force, JTTF and in Moussaoui’s cause. Moussaoui, a French member of al-Qaeda, pleaded guilty to conspiring to kill American citizens in 2005 and is now serving a life sentence for his role in the attack.
