The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has dropped its action against a junior solicitor who was struck off after losing a briefcase containing legal documents on a train.

Claire Matthews lost her licence to practise law in 2020 after the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found that she had covered up the fact that she had left a briefcase containing legal documents on a train in May 2018 while working as a solicitor at Capsticks. At the time, she had been working at the firm for just four weeks.
