COVID has catapulted inclusion and mental health to the forefront of corporate agendas. Employers are adapting to their workers’ changing needs but the legal industry has some way to go.

In 2018, research by McKinsey showed the positive correlation between profitability and gender, ethnic and cultural diversity. Then, in a January 2019 open letter, 170 general counsel from top global companies warned law firms to improve on diversity or risk losing their business. Diversity was no longer an optional extra but a strategic asset, critical to the profession’s success.
