When Columbus, Georgia, attorney Morris Mullin came on as local defense counsel in a Muscogee County civil RICO trial, the odds seemed to be stacked against his team, he said.

The State Court of Muscogee County has recently gained a reputation for explosive verdicts. The case was assigned to Judge Andrew Prather II, whose court awarded two jury verdicts in excess of $100 million in 2019. The team was also up against plaintiffs attorney Charlie Gower, a formidable opponent, according to Mullin.
