The Subchapter V bankruptcy option saw a sharp increase in filings in 2023, and as other states join Florida with a significant number of these matters, awareness is clearly growing in the bankruptcy bar.

In 2022, there were a total of 1,553 Subchapter V cases filed throughout the country, with Florida hosting the most cases than any other state with 234 cases there. Last year, the number of total cases in the U.S. hit 1,836 without even counting December, according to data from the American Bankruptcy Institute.
