Cecilia M. Altonaga was elected the first female U.S. District chief judge in the jurisdiction’s nearly 175 years of existence.
And to commemorate the milestone, Altonaga gathered each woman who served in the Southern District of Florida in a photo to collectively show how far the jurisdiction has come.
