Two major energy companies are shaking up their executive ranks, giving their general counsel expanded roles and new responsibilities. The moves come as more general counsel are extending their reach beyond legal to help companies achieve their business goals.

Richmond, Virginia-based Dominion Energy announced this week that it is promoting Chief Legal Officer Carlos Brown. He’ll be filling the shoes of longtime executive Carter Reid, who will be retiring on Jan. 1, 2024.
