LGBTQ+ dating app Grindr hired Zachary Katz, a former deputy special counsel to President Barack Obama, as its first general counsel and head of global affairs.

Katz also worked for four years as a lawyer for the Federal Communications Commission during the Obama administration. He held several roles at the FCC, including chief counsel and legal adviser to chairman Julius Genachowski.
