A longtime in-house leader at WarnerMedia is leaving the AT&T-owned media giant to join a pair of former journalists who are launching a digital news company in Washington, D.C.

Stephanie Abrutyn is slated to begin her new role as general counsel and senior vice president of business and legal affairs at the media startup, called Confidential, in mid-August. She announced the move Wednesday in a LinkedIn post.
