Even before the COVID-19 pandemic touched down, corporations were already expecting their legal departments to function more like a traditional business unit. That means finding ways to keep costs down, a challenge that Logikcull’s InHouse Leadership Summit examined up close and personal Thursday.

In a session titled ”No Budget, No Resources, No Problem: In-House Leaders on Finding Innovative Solutions in the ‘New Normal,’” speakers shared how they kept costs down while still maintaining a standard of quality for the work coming out of their department. Farrah Pepper, chief legal innovation counsel at Marsh & McLennan Cos., indicated that one of the key decisions that operations programs being built from the ground up will face is the balance of work that is handled internally versus externally.
