The April 2022 trial to resolve the fight between the bankruptcy trustee for LeClairRyan and UnitedLex over culpability for the former’s collapse will go forward as scheduled, without the inclusion of 13 former directors and officers of the firm who were recently sued by the trustee for $41.5 million.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin R. Huennekens of the Eastern District of Virginia ruled from the bench at a hearing Tuesday that the inclusion of the directors and officers, who were sued in early September by Chapter 7 trustee Lynn Tavenner, would make it nearly impossible to hold the trial within an established 10-day window.
