Paddock maintained straddle carriers, a “vehicle used to stack, unload, and move containers, such as those shipped on railcars,” at the Port of Tacoma. His employment with the port continued until his termination in February 2017, after a private investigator determined that he knowingly gave false testimony in another employee’s lawsuit, according to the appellate court’s opinion filed June 21.
