The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to wade into questions about how federal judges use social media in a case challenging a $122 million settlement between a California timber company and the federal government.

The justices, without comment, denied review in Sierra Pacific Industries v. United States. The timber company, represented by Kirkland & Ellis partner Paul Clement, was appealing a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit that upheld the settlement.
