Mia Butera joins East Bay firm Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean as an associate in their Business Practice Group. With experience in business and contract law, Butera previously served with Rogoway Law Group and as a contract attorney for Stripe.

A ninth attorney has been added to Hanson Bridgett’s Los Angeles office. Bryan M. Gragg joins the firm’s construction group, focusing on litigation related to lien foreclosures, stop payment notices, and bond claims. Gragg formerly served as an associate at Snell & Wilmer in the firm’s construction and complex commercial litigation practice group.

Hunton & Williams expanded its national labor and employment practice by bringing on partners Michele Beilke and Julia Trankiem. The firm also hired associates Rafael Tumanyan and Sonya Goodwin. All four attorneys previously worked at Reed Smith, and will be based in Los Angeles.

Matt Kirmayer joined Perkins Coie as a partner in San Francisco. Kirmayer previously was a partner at Lowenstein Sandler and will be part of the emerging companies and venture capital practice group.

Littler Mendelson appointed two new office managing shareholders in Northern California. Constance Norton will hold that position at the San Francisco office and Gregory Iskander will do the same at the office in Walnut Creek.

John Masland has joined Blank Rome’s Los Angeles office as an associate within its finance, restructuring, and bankruptcy group. Masland previously served with Perkins Thompson.

JAMS brought on Howard Miller as a mediator in its Los Angeles office. Miller specializes in disputes in business and commercial, entertainment, environmental, intellectual property, international and real property. Previously, Miller served as president of the State Bar of California.

Douglas Mirell joined Greenberg Glusker as a partner in the litigation group. Mirell will be based in Los Angeles, and concentrates his practice on First Amendment rights and defamation claims.

Davis Polk’s litigation department in Northern California brought on Ashok Ramani as an intellectual property litigator, specializing in patent and trade secret litigation. Ramani was previously with Keker, Van Nest & Peters, where he served as a partner in its contract, commercial and IP litigation practice.

Daniel Scholz became a partner at construction law firm Finch, Thornton & Baird in San Diego. Scholz’s focus is on various areas of construction law, including federal procurement and claims.

Solomon Ward Seidenwurm & Smith promoted Aubree Green and Leah Strickland to partners in San Diego. Green is part of the business and corporate and real estate practice groups. Strickland’s practice focuses on business litigation, employment litigation, and intellectual property disputes.
