SAN FRANCISCO – Travis Kalanick, the ousted CEO of Uber Technologies Inc., has hired lawyers from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe to represent him in a trade secrets suit against Uber by Google’s driverless car division.

Kalanick is being represented by Orrick partners Melinda Haag, the former U.S. attorney for the Northern District of California, and Walter Brown, chair of the firm’s white-collar, investigations, securities litigation and compliance group. Firm spokesman Howard Mintz confirmed that Haag and Brown are representing Kalanick but declined to provide any further details about its representation of the ex-Uber CEO.
