Snap Inc., the company behind the massively popular image and messaging app Snapchat, has lost its first general counsel, Chris Handman. Handman joined the Venice Beach-based company in 2014. He told employees in an internal email last week about his plans to leave.

In the email, as originally reported by The Information, Handman said he wanted to leave Snap for personal reasons and to spend more time with his family, but that he plans to stay on as an adviser to the company.
