SAN FRANCISCO — An attorney accused of throwing a cup of iced coffee at opposing counsel during a deposition must pay $250 for belongings that were splattered in the incident, a federal magistrate judge ruled Friday.

In a written order, U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu sanctioned Valeria Calafiore Healy of Healy LLC for damaging items belonging to her opposing counsel during a July 2016 deposition in a hotly contested trade secrets dispute. Reached by email Friday, Healy declined to comment.
