SAN FRANCISCO — Google Inc. has fended off a patent suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas targeting its Google Play apps.
A jury on Wednesday returned a verdict that said Google had not infringed five patents for digital rights management asserted by Plano, Texas-based ContentGuard Inc. The company had sought more than $500 million in damages.
