For the first time in almost 17 years, eBay has a new top lawyer. Marie Oh Huber, who was hired this year amid the separation from PayPal, has more than 20 years of experience counseling tech companies—first at Hewlett-Packard Co., then chipmaker Agilent Technologies, before making the jump to the online marketplace. Huber was involved in HP’s 1999 spinoff of Agilent in what was at the time a record-setting IPO. When she was tapped to replace Michael Jacobson, who was eBay’s first lawyer and only GC, one venerable Valley GC said it “couldn’t have done better.”
