SAN FRANCISCO — Women claiming the free market, not medical organizations, should control the price of eggs donated for fertility treatments hit a major milestone in court Tuesday.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph Spero of the Northern District of California certified a class of women who donated their eggs from 2007 to the present at clinics that agreed to follow pricing guidelines set by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology or the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
