IP acquisition and licensing company Inventergy Inc. has brought on an intellectual property litigator from medical testing startup Theranos Inc. Saxon Noh, who joins as vice president, served as principal litigation counsel at Rambus Inc. and senior IP counsel at Marvell Semiconductor Inc. See story online.

Hemmy So has joined Twitter Inc. as senior legal counsel for products. So provided product and regulatory counsel at PayPal and worked at Doll Amir & Eley, a litigation boutique in Los Angeles.


James Snell has joined Perkins Coie‘s privacy and security practice in Silicon Valley as a partner. He comes from Bingham McCutchen, where he cochaired the firm’s intellectual property group and privacy and security group. See story online.

The Palo Alto office of K&L Gates has added L. Scott Oliver as a partner in the intellectual property litigation practice. Oliver, who focuses his practice on patent, copyright, trade secret, and complex technology-related disputes, joins from Morrison & Foerster.

Royse Law Firm has added startup and emerging-companies attorney Fred Greguras as a partner in Palo Alto. He was a partner at K&L Gates and Fenwick & West in Silicon Valley.

DLA Piper has added Liga Hoy, a principal economist for the international tax practice, in San Francisco. She joined from Franklin Templeton Investments, where she served as the director of global transfer pricing in its corporate finance unit.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips has added Katherine Blair as a partner in its capital markets practice in its Los Angeles office. Blair, who focuses on finance, venture capital and emerging companies, mergers and acquisition and corporate governance, joined from K&L Gates.

Los Angeles’ Sacks, Glazier, Franklin & Lodise has added intellectual property attorney Ryan Houck. He was with Kirkland & Ellis.

Perkins Coie has added trial attorney Julie Hussey to the firm’s San Diego office as a partner in the product liability practice. She was a partner at DLA Piper.

Farella Braun + Martel has added Kelly Giddens as an associate in its business transactions and renewable energy and clean technologies groups. She earned a law degree from New York University School of Law and a master’s in business administration from NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business in 2010.
