PALO ALTO — Morrison & Foerster’s Palo Alto office has nabbed the co-chairwoman of Orrick’s technology transaction and sourcing practice.
Stephanie Sharron joined MoFo as a partner on Thursday. She will continue to focus her practice on intellectual property and commercial transactions in mobility, social media, big data, cloud computing and e-commerce.
Prior to joining Orrick, Sharron practiced at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for more than 15 years.
“Stephanie’s ability to support sophisticated M&A deals and to lead complex IP and commercial transactions will further expand our already robust and busy practice,” MoFo partner Tessa Schwartz, co-chairwoman of the firm’s technology transactions group, said in a statement. Schwartz is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Legal recruiter Larry Watanabe, who brokered the deal, said MoFo has been on the hunt for a lawyer to bolster its tech transactions practice in the Valley for several years. Sharron’s departure from Orrick comes on the heels of three defections in New York. Securities litigators Joseph Frank, Matthew Craner and Agnès Dunogué jumped to Shearman & Sterling’s N.Y. office on Wednesday.
