SAN FRANCISCO — Google Inc. has taken a hit from a so-called patent troll. A federal jury in Texas ordered Google last week to pay $5 million in damages for infringing a Linux-related patent held by Texas-based Bedrock Computer Technologies.
Attorneys from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in Redwood Shores represented Google at the trial, along with attorneys from Potter Minton in Texas. Quinn Emanuel’s litigation team was led by Claude Stern, along with partners Michael Jones, Evette Pennypacker and Todd Briggs.
