SAN FRANCISCO — Allen Ruby and Cristina Arguedas were front and center during Barry Bonds’ trial. But getting the superstar out of trouble now will fall largely to another defense duo.

Dennis Riordan and his partner, Donald Horgan, the appellate lawyers who didn’t have speaking roles in front of the jury, are expected to do the heavy lifting as the team turns its attention to getting the obstruction-of-justice conviction undone.
