A federal judge approved genetic testing firm 23andMe Inc.’s $30 million data breach settlement but told lawyers to make some changes.

U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, of the Northern District of California, who already had flagged numerous issues with the settlement at an Oct. 29 preliminary approval hearing, told lawyers to come back in two weeks to answer his questions, most of which revolved around notices and claim forms. He also raised concerns about the proposed $7.5 million in attorney fees.
