U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley has opted not to sanction Elon Musk for missing a scheduled deposition to attend a SpaceX rocket launch in September, rejecting a motion from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

An order from the San Francisco court stated that civil sanctions are employed get a party to either comply with a court order or reimburse the other side's losses. With Musk having agreed to terms that satisfy both areas, Corley wrote, there's no remaining controversy for sanctioning.
