The couple whose gender reveal party ignited the El Dorado Fire in southern California in September 2020 reached a plea deal with prosecutors and were sentenced last week, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office announced.

San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson previously said that the couple used a smoke bomb to reveal the gender of their pregnancy at the El Dorado Park in Yucaipa, which sparked a brush fire that became known as the El Dorado Fire in September 2020. The blaze burned nearly 23,000 acres in the Oak Glen/Yucaipa Ridge area before it was contained 72 days later in November 2020.
