The Georgia Court of Appeals sided with a group of plaintiffs trying to get a court injunction to halt the construction of the Rivian electric vehicle plant in Morgan and Walton counties, just east of the metro Atlanta area in a bond dispute.
The plaintiffs, a group of Morgan and Walton county landowners with property surrounding the site of the plant, sued in the Superior Court of Fulton County, arguing that the plant will have a negative impact on pollution and groundwater, in addition to violating local zoning ordinances.
