A long-running battle over the copyrights to one of the best-selling video games of all time has come to a close with a settlement, after a California state court entered its amended final statement of decision, determining the plaintiff failed to prove actual damages.

In September, the Superior Court of San Mateo County confirmed that, while NetEase breached certain elements of their confidentiality agreement, Krafton, the creators of popular battle royale game “PUBG: Battlegrounds,” failed to prove actual damages for its Chinese knockoff version, choosing instead to impose liquidated damages.
