As tech sector regulation continues to evolve at a rapid clip, Covington & Burling is responding to a swell in client demand in Northern California, according to Gretchen Hoff Varner, the firm’s new San Francisco office managing partner.

“We’ve quietly become one of the leading firms for representing technology companies,” Varner said of the Washington, D.C.-born firm, which today counts more than 90 attorneys in San Francisco and advises four of the five largest tech companies in the world.
