The chief legal officer of the struggling business-communications software maker 8X8 Inc. is leaving for a new job, the company disclosed Wednesday, the same day it announced the firing of its CEO.

Matthew Zinn had been the legal chief of the Campbell, California-based company since 2018. He took the role about a year after he’d ended a 16-year run as the general counsel of TiVo. 8X8 said in a regulatory filing that Zinn had accepted the legal chief role at another publicly traded company.
