The city and county of San Francisco need as much as $8.1 billion to alleviate the region’s opioid crisis, according to lawyers who plan to demand that Walgreens provide the funds.
The request comes ahead of a second phase of trial to determine how much Walgreens, which was found liable on Aug. 10 for San Francisco’s opioid crisis, should pay the city and county.
