Those are among the hodgepodge of items that fetched thousands of dollars each at an auction Wednesday of Tom Girardi’s personal belongings at the disgraced lawyer’s 10,277-square-foot home in Pasadena, California. Among the top sellers were multiple Persian rugs, numerous pieces of giltwood furniture, Italian and bronze sculpture, particularly by American artist Glenna Maxey Goodacre, and several oil paintings, one dating back to 1410. It also included some unusual items like two handwritten letters from Santa Claus, which sold for $200, and a Russian icon of Saint George and the Dragon from Girardi’s private chapel. Meanwhile, three glass achievement awards once given to Girardi sold for $50.
