One of President Joe Biden’s picks for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reported making $1.4 million from Coppersmith Brockelman last year, according to a financial disclosure filing.

Roopali Desai, a partner at the Phoenix, Arizona-based firm since 2007, has been involved in a number of notable election law cases, including several in the wake of the 2020 presidential election representing the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office against ultimately unsuccessful lawsuits that sought to challenge the state’s results, which awarded electoral votes to President Joe Biden.
